Nomination Requirements & Instructions
1. Any interested person may submit nominations to the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section Tennis Hall of Fame selection committee.
2. Nominees may be selected posthumously.
3. There will be two categories of the *Tennis Hall of Fame:

Player Category
Players will be chosen for their record of outstanding competitive achievements with considerations to sportsmanship and character. Other considerations are:
• USTA HPS member who played or is currently playing HPS tournaments
• Local, Sectional, National and International record of play
• Davis Cup, Fed Cup, Wightman Cup participant residing in the USTA  Hawaii Pacific Section
• Number of years ranked in the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section
• Awards and commendations received
• Participation in community activities
• Other outstanding achievements

Service Category
This category honors individuals who are volunteers, media, officials, coaches and others who have made outstanding contributions to tennis. Other  considerations are:
• Activities in the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section
• Length of service to the USTA at the Sectional and/or National level
• Awards and commendations received
• Participation in community activities
*There will be no more than one player and one non-player selected each year.

Nominations are being accepted for the following awards. All nominees must be current USTA members. Adequate reasoning (i.e., service, accomplishments, awards) is *REQUIRED* for each nomination to be considered.   

Jim Howe Sportsmanship Award
The award is given to one boy and one girl within the Section, usually high school seniors, who exemplifies outstanding sportsmanship, conduct, character and tennis ability.

Family of the Year
The award is given to a family in the Section that has made a contribution to tennis through service, commitment and example. Winning family will be submitted for the National USTA Ralph Westcott Family of the Year Award.

Organization Member of the Year
The award is given to a member club/organization that serves the tennis community with outstanding program offerings, community relationships, volunteer development and strong leadership with historical perspective.  Winner is submitted for National Organization Member of the Year.

Facility of the Year
Award given to outstanding public tennis facility with USTA and other growth programs open to the public; award recognizes facility for overall layout and adaptation to site; excellence of court surface and lights; accommodations for players, spectators, press/officials, USTA sanctioned tournaments and events, programs supporting the USTA and growth of the game. Winner will be nominated for the 2008 National USTA Tennis Facility of the Year Award.

District Service Awards
This award is given to an individual or organization, within a District who have made outstanding contributions to tennis through service, commitment and example.
*One award is given for each district.

Special Service Award
This award is given to an individual in recognition of outstanding service and has been a source of inspiration and encouragement to others to assume active leadership roles in the tennis community.

Special Friend of Tennis Award
This award is given to an individual or organization that has been integral in helping the section promote and develop the growth of tennis here in the Hawaii Pacific Section.
